Step by step
How it works
- Layout
We plan the deck around how you use the yard – room for loungers, walkways, a table and shade.
- Prepare
The old deck comes out if needed, the base is graded and drains and slope away from the pool are planned.
- Pour or lay
Broom-finish, brushed or stamped concrete is poured – or travertine, pavers or flagstone are laid.
- Joints & finish
Expansion joints at the coping, sealing or a spray coating, and a clean yard at the end.
Size it for the way you live
The deck is where people actually spend time – loungers, a table, a grill, kids running laps. A deck that is too narrow is the most common regret we hear. We plan it in the 3D design with real furniture so you can see the space.
Materials
Concrete is the most cost-effective; a brushed or broom finish keeps it grippy. Stamped and colored concrete imitates stone. Travertine stays cooler in an Alabama August. For an old, sound concrete deck, a spray deck coating (like the Kahlua Creme we used on a recent remodel) gives it a new surface for a fraction of the cost of replacing it.

Customer reviews
What customers say
The maintenance service is excellent. I reluctantly stopped doing it myself when the pool was renovated, which was itself beautifully done, and am glad I did turn it over to them. They update you weekly on the state of the pool and seem to take pride in their work.
We had a leak in the return pipe. Elite cut through over 6 in deep concrete to get to the broken pipe. They replaced the damage section, filled the hole and poured the concrete. They did a fantastic job and I would highly recommend them.
My technician has always been Kyle Handy. Hes responsive, kind, very knowledgeable, and respectful.
What is the coolest deck material for summer?
Light-colored travertine and light spray coatings stay noticeably cooler than dark pavers or plain concrete.
Can you resurface my existing concrete deck?
If it is structurally sound, yes – a spray deck coating covers cracks and stains and changes the color.
