Step by step
How it works
- Pick size & shape
Rectangles, L-shapes, Grecian corners and freeforms. We draw it in your yard so you can see the deck around it.
- Walls & floor
Wall panels are set and braced, plumbing is run, and the floor is troweled smooth.
- Liner
The liner is measured to the finished pool and made to fit – we use 27-mil liners wherever the pattern allows.
- Deck & start-up
Coping, concrete or pavers, equipment, then we fill and start the pool.
Why vinyl
A vinyl pool gives you the most pool for the money. The walls are steel or polymer panels, the floor is a smooth troweled base and the liner is the waterproof skin. The liner is soft underfoot and does not grow algae the way plaster can.
You get your creativity through the liner pattern, the coping and the deck. We work with Tara liner patterns – from classic tile-line blues to stone and mosaic looks. Steps, benches and tanning ledges can be built into the walls.
What to expect later
The pool structure should give you 30 years or more. The liner is the wear part: sun, chemicals and the odd dog claw take their toll, and most liners are replaced every 7–10 years. When that time comes, we do that too – see liner replacement.

How long does a vinyl liner last?
Typically 7–10 years in Alabama. Balanced water and a good cover help it last longer.
20 mil or 27 mil?
We use 27-mil liners wherever the pattern allows. They are tougher and handle punctures and sun better than 20 mil.
Can a vinyl pool have a tanning ledge or a slide?
Yes. Tanning ledges, wide steps and benches are built into the walls, and slides like the Typhoon sit on the deck.
