- Schedule
We book your spring opening or fall closing – and measure for a safety cover if you want one.
- Opening
Cover off, cleaned and stored, equipment started and checked for leaks, filter cleaned and water balanced.
- Closing
Fall cleaning and chemical treatment, water lowered and the lines winterized.
- Cover
Your cover goes back on – or we install a custom safety cover made for your pool.
To close or not to close
Many Birmingham pools run all winter with the pump on a freeze-protection setting. Others are closed under a safety cover. Both work – what matters is that the water stays balanced and that nothing freezes. During hard freezes, keep the pump running: moving water is much harder to freeze, and we have repaired a lot of cracked pipes and equipment after cold snaps.
Openings
Spring openings book up fast in March and April. An early opening also beats the pollen and the first warm weeks when algae grow fastest – you do not have to wait until the pool is green.

Should I close my pool in Alabama?
It is a choice. Closing under a safety cover saves chemicals and work; running the pool with freeze protection keeps it ready to use. We can set it up either way.
